1. Open Access

Nyayavimarsha is committed to the free and immediate dissemination of legal scholarship.

Scholarly articles published by the Journal are made available online without requiring readers to pay a subscription or access fee.

There is ordinarily no embargo period between publication and public access to the published article.

2. Licence for Published Articles

Unless otherwise expressly indicated, scholarly articles published by Nyayavimarsha are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Subject to the terms of that licence, readers may:

  • read and download articles;
  • copy and redistribute them in any medium or format;
  • print and share them;
  • link to them;
  • use them for teaching or research;
  • index and text-mine them;
  • adapt, translate or build upon them; and
  • make other lawful uses of them, including commercial uses.

Appropriate attribution must be provided, the licence must be identified and any changes made to the original material must be indicated.

3. Author Copyright

Open access does not require authors to surrender ownership of copyright.

Authors ordinarily retain copyright in their original contributions while granting Nyayavimarsha the non-exclusive publication rights described in the Journal's Copyright Policy.

4. Repository and Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit or share the published version of their article in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, academic profiles and other lawful platforms, provided that the original publication in Nyayavimarsha is appropriately acknowledged.

5. Third-Party Content

Material contained within an article that is credited to a third party may not necessarily be covered by the article's Creative Commons licence.

Users are responsible for determining whether separate permission is required before reusing such material.

6. Citation and Attribution

Nyayavimarsha encourages the circulation and use of its published scholarship. Users should cite the original author and publication in accordance with accepted academic citation practices.

The preferred citation for an article may also be stated on the first page of the published PDF.

7. Relationship with Copyright Policy

This Open Access Policy shall be read together with the Nyayavimarsha Copyright Policy.

Where a specific contribution expressly carries different licensing terms, the terms stated on that contribution shall govern its reuse.
