1. Copyright Ownership

Copyright in an original scholarly contribution published by Nyayavimarsha shall ordinarily remain with the author(s), subject to any rights in third-party material incorporated into the contribution.

Authors do not transfer ownership of copyright in their articles to Nyayavimarsha merely by publication.

2. Licence Granted to Nyayavimarsha

By accepting publication, the author(s) grant Nyayavimarsha a non-exclusive licence to:

• publish the contribution for the first time;
• reproduce, host, display, distribute and archive the published version;
• make the contribution available through the Nyayavimarsha website and other academic or indexing platforms;
• include the contribution in complete issues, archives, databases and institutional repositories; and
• identify Nyayavimarsha as the original place of publication.

This licence does not prevent authors from using, sharing, depositing or republishing their own work subject to acknowledgment of its original publication in Nyayavimarsha and the applicable open-access licence.

3. Open-Access Licence

Unless otherwise expressly stated on an individual publication, scholarly articles published by Nyayavimarsha are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under this licence, users may share and adapt the licensed material for lawful purposes, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given, the applicable licence is identified and changes, if any, are indicated.

4. Attribution

Reuse of a Nyayavimarsha article should, wherever reasonably practicable, identify:

• the author(s);
• the title of the contribution;
• Nyayavimarsha as the place of original publication;
• the volume, issue, year and page range or other publication identifier, where available;
• the applicable Creative Commons licence; and
• whether the material has been modified.

5. Author Reuse

Because authors retain copyright, authors may ordinarily:

• share the published article;
• upload it to personal or institutional webpages or repositories;
• use it in teaching and academic presentations;
• reproduce it in a thesis or dissertation;
• incorporate it into a later work; and
• otherwise exercise their rights as copyright holders,

subject to any third-party rights and acknowledgment of the article's original publication in Nyayavimarsha.

6. Third-Party Material

The Creative Commons licence applicable to an article does not automatically apply to photographs, illustrations, tables, extracts or other third-party material included in the article where such material is separately credited or subject to different copyright terms.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions required for third-party copyrighted material before publication.

Persons wishing to reuse separately identified third-party material must comply with the rights applicable to that material.

7. Journal Name, Logo and Website Material

The open-access licence applicable to scholarly articles does not, unless expressly stated, grant permission to use Nyayavimarsha's name, logo, trademarks, website design, branding or other proprietary material in a manner suggesting endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation.

8. Copyright Notice

Published articles should, wherever practicable, carry a notice substantially in the following form:

© [Year] The Author(s). Published by Nyayavimarsha. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Where different terms apply to a particular item, those terms should be stated on that publication.
